I think this... Poets, no longer are we a few here and there... there are many of us and we will all work to help each other for better poetry. I am 67 and live in Coventry England. I have been writing for many years mostly poetry. Its freedom is better then most forms of writing, and for me, it's easy to work with. Have i got it right yet? No, but i keep trying.

If the prose flows then let it go...... and in doing so, exorcise those demons and face them in the eye! For they are the very things that drive your soul and dominate your being. So exorcise them well and if a poem or two flows out then all the better!
Careful with that dogma, my karma might hit it

I was born in England, but raised in Canada until I was fourteen. I came back to England where I now live.
I started writing seriously at eighteen, firstly with songs, then drifted into writing poetry, short stories and finally novels.
Last year I won an Outstanding Achievement Award from the International Society Of Poets for my poem Faded Love Letters. The only award I have ever won for any of my writing. The poem has now been include in several anthologies including one on CD. I am at the moment finishing my latest novel of which I have managed to acquire a Literary Agent to sell it for me

From:
I paint in oils and watercolours, study the Japanese language, create tapestries, love books (all kinds) , music, (classical and anything relaxing) , photography, as my daughter is a portrait photographer, and she has sparked my interest. Have had two commissions to create floral bouquets for Queen Elizabeth II, which is a great honour. Walk an english cocker spaniel.
I write poetry because I enjoy it and find it is a lovely way of expressing how one feels, what one sees, what one hears, what makes one laugh, what make one cry, helping to express feelings deep inside and letting them escape, releasing a great deal of pent up emotions. I like to read a variety of books, including poetry books. I like oil and watercolour painting, music, classical and relaxing. Walking, gardening, dining with friends, visiting interesting places. I'm very tolerant, and do not stand in judgement. I aim for a peaceful life, if possible, but weather the ups and downs of life with a sense of humour and determination. I have interests in so many things, which I think will be found in my poems
